20.102.4.1.3 Foot Probe Test for Standing Child

Place the machine on a hard, flat surface with the guard in its normal operating position on the cutting device housing, and ensure the machine supports are in contact with the supporting surface. For this test, components such as wheels and frames are considered integral parts of the cutting device housing. The test shall be conducted in a stationary state.

The foot probe shown in Figure 107 shall be inserted along the external housing of the machine toward the cutting device. At any height, the bottom of the probe shall be kept horizontal, then tilted forward or backward by no more than 15° from the horizontal (see Figure 102). Apply a horizontal force of up to 20N along the entire periphery of the machine (see Figure 102) until the machine's housing is lifted or displaced from its original position, or until contact is made with the cutting device trajectory, whichever occurs first.

The probe shall not enter the trajectory of the cutting device assembly.
